Kleberg-Kenedy Agrilife Extension Service is in the process of conducting the next Master Gardener Class in the spring of 2020.
The evening classes will be scheduled once a week starting in February and will conclude in May. The schedule will be adjusted for individuals that express an interest in completing the class.
The Master Gardener program supports the community through educational efforts with horticulture related topics. Classroom topics will include soil and plant development, turfgrass, entomology, citrus, vegetable production, tree care, gardening and landscaping, green industry, and floral arrangement.
Participants are required to attend 50 hours of classroom/hands-on instruction followed by 50 hours of volunteer service to their local community. The service hours must be completed within the year following the classroom instruction/activities.
Once the requirements are complete, the participant becomes a certified Texas Master Gardener.
Individual registration will be approximately $200. Those interested in participating or seeking additional information about the program are asked to contact the Kleberg-Kenedy Extension Office (595-8566) or search the Master Gardener website at: https://mastergardener.tamu.edu/. Due to the intensity of the program, at least 10 individuals must be enrolled by Jan. 24, 2020 for the course to make.
