At the Regular Board meeting on July 31, 2019, the Kenedy County-Wide Common School District Board of Trustees voted to fill the trustee vacancy by appointment after creating a committee to interview qualified applicants. The appointed applicant will serve as a member of the Board of Trustees through the next School Board general election in May, 2020. The seat will be open for election to fill the unexpired term of former trustee, Marc Estes for the remaining one year of his three-year term. Legal qualifications to serve on the Board of Trustees can be found in Policy BBA (LEGAL), which include that you must be a U.S. Citizen; 18 years of age or older; not convicted of a felony; mentally capacitated; a qualified voter; and reside in the state for twelve months and in the District boundaries for six months prior to appointment. Applications are available through the Main Office of the Kenedy County-Wide CSD, 150 East La Parra Street, Sarita, TX 78385 or by contacting the Main Office at 361-294-5381 during normal business hours (7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.). Submit completed applications to the KCWCSD, 150 East La Parra Street, Sarita, TX 78385 by 4:30 p.m., on Monday, August 26, 2019. Interviews for the vacant seat will be held at a Special Called Board meeting scheduled for August 30, 2019. Any inquiries for other specific information should be made to the KCWCSD office.
