Juan I. Ramirez Juan I. Ramirez, 82, of Kingsville, died Sept. 11, 2009.

Ramirez was born Nov. 24, 1926, in Taft, to Nicolas and Jacinta Ramirez.

He served in the Army from 1945 to 1960 and National Guard through 1963.

He was a WWII Veteran.

Ramirez moved to Kingsville in 1963 as a butcher and went on to own several businesses in Kingsville including Johnny’s Lounge and Corral Storage.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kingsville.

Survivors include his son, Juan (Sandra) Ramirez Jr.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his brothers, Ernesto Ramirez, and Nicolas Ramirez Jr. and sisters, Elvira Rios, Mary Garcia and Leonor Garcia.

A rosary was recited Sept. 16 at Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sept. 17 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
