Juan I. Ramirez
Juan I. Ramirez, 82, of Kingsville, passed away September 11, 2009. Mr. Ramirez was born November 24, 1926 in Taft, Texas, to Nicolas and Jacinta Ramirez. He served in the Army from 1945 to 1960 and National Guard through 1963. He was a WWII Veteran. Mr. Ramirez moved to Kingsville in 1963 as a butcher and went on to own several businesses in Kingsville including Johnny’s Lounge and Corral Storage. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kingsville, Texas.
Mr. Ramirez was preceded in death by his parents, Nicolas and Jacinta Ramirez; and brothers, Genaro Ramirez and Polo Ramirez.
Survivors include his son, Juan (Sandra) Ramirez Jr.; grandchildren: David (Amy) Naranjo, Marcella Ramirez, Lisa (Jesse) Allen, Juan (Tina) Ramirez III, Amelia Ramirez, Nicole Ramirez; great grandchildren: Isaac J. Ramirez, Melina J. Ramirez, Mateo C. Ramirez, Adrian Naranjo and Alaina N. Naranjo. Other survivors include his brothers, Ernesto Ramirez, and Nicolas Ramirez Jr. and sisters, Elivra Rios, Mary Garcia and Leonor Garcia.

A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
