Albina V. Guerra Albina V. Guerra Former longtime Kingsville resident, Albina V. Guerra, 90, of Corpus Christi, died Sept. 20, 2009, in Corpus Christi.

She was born Jan. 1, 1919, in Skidmore, to Jesus Villarreal and Gabina Benavides Villarreal.

She was the oldest of 10 children.

Guerra in her early years was originally from Alice, and resided in Kingsville since 1949.

She and her husband Frank Guerra were the owners of Day & Night Café in Kingsville.

After her retirement, she enjoyed being with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

Her hobbies included gardening.

Survivors include two daughters, Rosie (Israel, Sr.) Padilla and Aurora Guerra, both of Corpus Christi; son, Jesse Robert Guerra of Corpus Christi; two brothers, Ramon (Otila) Villarreal of Converse, and Jesus (Francis) Villarreal Jr. of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Evangelina (Ramiro) Anaya and Eloisa (Armando) Salinas, both of Alice; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel.

Following the rosary service, a prayer service will be conducted by the Rev. Servando Torres Jr.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sept. 24 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Isidoro Garcia, O.M.I., as celebrant.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Kingsville.
