Phillip Ray Garcia Jr. Private Phillip Ray Garcia Jr. completed his 15-week basic training course at Fort Benning, Ga., on Sept. 18, 2009.

He was with the 198th Infantry Brigade and will be stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky., joining the 101st Airborne Division on Oct. 13, 2009.

Garcia will also be attending air assault school during his brief stay until deployment sometime in March 2010.

He is the son of Phillip and Noelia Garcia of Kingsville.

Paternal grandparents are Luciano and Dora Garcia of Kingsville and Homero and Peggy Garcia of Kingsville.

Maternal grandparents are Fred and Noemi Garza of Kingsville.
