Midweek Sports Notes
Seahawks cross country
Riviera-Kaufer High School’s varsity cross country team had fifteen out of seventeen runners win medals after finishing in the top 20 in their respective races at the Corpus Christi Islander Splash at West Guth Park this past Saturday.
Brandon Lacy and Robin Pittman each won their first gold medal of the season coming in first in their respective varsity divisions.
Also running in the varsity boys event were Sebastian Benavides (fourth place), Devin de la Fuente (sixth) and Jarrett Montemayor (tenth).
Running in the varsity girls race were Macy Chapa (sixth), Amanda Rendon (tenth), and Arianna Hack (twelfth).
Competing in the junior varsity boys race were Chris Yanez (fourteenth), Eric Pitty (seventeenth), Daniel McDonald (twenty-fifth), and Kendall Aguinaga (twenty-sixth).
Placing in the junior varsity girls race were Julia Estrada (third), Sabrina Garrison (fifth), Peyton Graham (sixth), Brittany Flores (ninth) and Alexis Geigenmiller (nineteenth). The Seahawks travel to Floresville on Saturday.
Brahmas cross county
H.M. King High School’s Rosario Gonzalez won a medal by placing fifth in the freshman division at a cross country meet hosted by Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi this past Saturday.

Bishop High School’s junior varsity football team hosts Banquete at 7:30 p.m. Luehrs Junior High’s seventh and eighth grade football teams host Banquete at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
H.M. King High School’s junior varsity and freshman football teams visit Alice at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Santa Gertrudis Kingsville Academy’s varsity volleyball team hosts Tilden at 4 p.m. on Friday.
Academy’s junior varsity and freshman volleyball teams visit Pan American on Saturday.
Riviera-Kaufer’s varsity volleyball team hosts Santa Rosa at 5 p.m. on Friday.
