Annual Kleberg-Kenedy 4-H Achievement Awards Banquet held

The highest County 4-H award, the Gold Star, was presented to three senior 4-H members at the Annual Kleberg-Kenedy 4-H Achievement Awards Banquet.
Selina Ramirez, the daughter of Danny and Bertha Ramirez, received the Gold Star for her accomplishments in the area of Food and Nutrition, Swine, Public Speaking, Leadership and Community Service.
For his accomplishments in Goat, Food and Nutrition, Consumer Education, Leadership and Community Service earned Bryan Garcia the Gold Star Award. Bryan is the son of Balde and Nilda Garcia.
Bethanny Bull received the Gold Star Award for her interest and participation in Goat, Sheep, Consumer Education, Public Speaking, Leadership and Community Service. Bethanny is the daughter of Bret and Jana Bull.

The Gold Star Award was sponsored by the Kleberg- Kenedy Farm Bureau.
Jane Buckalew received the Outstanding Leader Award for her 4-H involvement. The Friend of 4-H Award for program support was presented to June Cannon.
Kleberg-Kenedy 4-H Adult Leaders Association recognized three 4-H members for their outstanding club work. Russell Wagner received the Outstanding Junior Award. He is the son of Robert and Jo Ella Wagner. The Outstanding Intermediate Award went to Hunter Meyer. Hunter is the son of Steve and Carla Meyer. Ellis Meyer was awarded the Outstanding Senior Award. He is the son of Steve and Carla Meyer.
The Golden Clover Award is presented to past Gold Star recipients who continue to excel in leadership, community service and project work. This year Travis Beadle was awarded the Golden Clover. Travis is the son of John and Tracy Beadle.

Kayla Canales and Christina Escobedo each received the Dan Forth “I Dare You” Award for exhibiting leadership in 4-H. Kayla is the daughter of Richard and Edna Kirkpatrick. Christina is the daughter of Frank and Raquel Escobedo.
The Best Rookie Recordbook Award in the Junior Division was presented to first year 4-H member J.C. Beadle for his accomplishments in record keeping. J.C. is the son of John and Tracy Beadle. Kelsey Richerson was awarded the Best Rookie Recordbook in the Intermediate Division. She is the daughter of Lauren Richerson. Bayley Irby earned the Best Rookie Recordbook in the Senior Division. Bayley is the daughter of Scott and Jana Irby.

Special recognition was given to 4-H club leaders for unselfishly devoting their time and expertise to the young people involved in the Kleberg-Kenedy 4-H program. 4-H volunteers are the most valuable components of a successful program.
