Floyd Ray Thiele, 78, of Edna, died on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, in Edna.

Thiele was born on Sept. 12, 1931, in Bishop to Ben and Maude Ray Thiele.

He retired from the Pipeline Division of Union Carbide in 1998 with 41 years of service.

He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict from 1950 to 1954 and he was a member of Grace Community Bible Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Lee Henderson; his children, Teresa Pool, Verna Charbula, and Esther Pavlik, all of El Campo, Kathleen Thiele of Inez and James Thiele of Eagle Lake; step-children, Deric and Curtis Henderson of Manchester, N.H. and Lee Ann McPherson of North Carolina; 22 grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Bennette McAfee of Bloomington.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 9 at Rosewood Funeral Chapel on Mockingbird Lane in Victoria with the Rev. Bill Pass officiating.

Followed by a reception with the family at Grace Community Bible Church on Glascow.
