Midweek Sports Notes
Brahma cross country
Five of H.M. King High School’s cross country runners won medals while competing against Corpus Christi King and Ray this past Saturday.
Winning medals in the varsity boys race were Andrew Rivas (fifth place with a time of 17:52), Anthony Munoz (ninth, 18:52) and Emanuel Ibanez (seventeenth, 19:52). Bryan Garcia finished in twentyfourth place with a time of 21:12.
Kelly Ryan won a medal by finishing nineteenth in the varsity girls event with a time of 14:20. Niki Tijerina scored her medal after placing seventeenth with a time of 16:26 in the junior varsity girls race. Sonora Cantu (34, 18:34) and Clara Guajardo (36, 18:48) ran in the junior varsity girls race. H.M. King competes at a meet in Calallen on Saturday.
Volleyball games

Riviera-Kaufer High School’s varsity volleyball team travels to play Santa Rosa at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Bishop High School’s varsity volleyball team hosts Premont at 5 p.m. on Friday.
H.M. King High School’s varsity, junior varsity and freshman volleyball teams travel to play Alice at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday.
Cross Country
on Saturday Riviera-Kaufer High School’s cross country team competes at the Ben Bolt Invitational. Santa Gertrudis Kingsville Academy High School’s cross country team competes at a meet in Calallen.
Non varsity
football
H.M. King High School’s junior varsity and freshman football teams host Tuloso- Midway at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Riviera-Kaufer High School’s junior varsity football team hosts Santa Rosa at 6 p.m. on Thursday. De la Paz Middle School’s seventh and eighth grade football teams travel to Ricardo at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
Bishop High School’s junior varsity football team visits Premont at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Luehrs Junior High School’s seventh and eighth grade football teams visit Premont at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday.
