Animal Rescue Kleberg
Animal Rescue Kleberg is a non-profit organization that helps find homes for orphaned cats, dogs and occasionally other animals. ARK is located at 225 E. Henrietta. Hours are from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by appointment.
Photos and descriptions of all pets ready for adoption can be viewed at the ARK web site at www.ark1.petfinder.com.
ARK recycles dog and cat collars, leashes, harnesses, towels, pet taxis, doghouses, kennels, bowls, toys, and other pet supplies. If you have any of these items that you don’t need, call 516-1456. The following are a sampling of the many cats, dogs available for adoption. (Unless otherwise indicated, call 516-1456 for more information.)
Cats for Adoption
“Cinderella,” female, brown tabby with shorthair white, spayed, SNAP tested, current on vaccinations, litter trained, about 14 months old.
“Cricket,” male, solid black domestic shorthair, neutered, SNAP tested, current on vaccinations, litter trained, about 5 ½ months old.
“Rachel,” female, calico with white, orange, and black markings, spayed, SNAP tested, current on vaccinations, litter trained, about 1 ½ years old.
“Cleopatra,” female, solid black domestic shorthair, spayed, SNAP tested, current on vaccinations, litter trained, about 1 ½ years old.
“Radar,” male, siamese mix, neutered, SNAP tested, current on vaccinations, litter trained, about 5 months old.
“Domino,” male, brown tabby with white marking on neck, neutered, SNAP tested, current on vaccinations, litter trained, about 9 months old.
“Ziva,” female, brown tabby, spayed, SNAP tested, current on vaccinations, litter trained, about 13 months old.
“Calvin,” male, medium haired brown tabby with white, neutered, SNAP tested, current on vaccinations, litter trained, about 7 months old.
Dogs for adoption
“Spot,” female, rat terrier mix, about 1 year old, white with brown markings/spots, new to the program- all vet work will be completed in the near future.
“Angel,” female, brindle colored lab mix, about 1 ½ years old, brown with orange markings, spayed, Apso negative, current on vaccinations, and flea, tick, and heartworm preventative.
“Peaches,” female, white with tan chihuahua/terrier mix, about 1 - 1 ½ years old, heartworm negative, new to program, vet work will be completed in the near future.
“Sweeps,” male, champagne colored, adult, neutered, heartworm negative, current on vaccinations and flea, tick, and current preventative.
“Lucy,” female, red miniature pinscher mix, spayed, current on vaccinations and flea, tick, and heartworm preventative, about 7 months old.
“Daisy,” female, yellow lab mix, spayed, current on vaccinations, flea, tick, and heartworm preventative, about a year old.
“Blue,” female, mix, spayed, current on vaccinations, flea, tick, and heartworm preventative, about 6 ½ months old.
Lost
Black female lab, about 1-1 ½ years old. Approximately 60-70 pounds, not wearing a collar, but seems as if though she previously had one on. Found roaming around downtown Kingsville near Henrietta and Kleberg streets. Looks healthy, gentle temperament. Call 516-1456 for further information or to reclaim pet.
Brown chocolate lab, about 1 year old. Approximately 40 pounds, not wearing a collar. Found and picked up by the Kingsville animal control near Loyola beach in Riviera, particularly County Road 1150. Sweet dog, very obedient, able to sit and shake on command, has a minor skin condition/irritation on back legs. Call 516-1456 for further information, or to reclaim pet.
Shelter
The Kingsville City/County Animal Control Shelter, located at 8604 N. Armstrong, also has a wide variety of animals available for adoption. However, these animals are only available for a limited amount of time. Call 592- 3324 for more information.
