Frances Lee Poisal Barnes Frances Lee Poisal Barnes 2x3.75 = $66.00 sign/return 361-Frances Lee Poisal Barnes, age 88 of Kerrville, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009 in a local nursing home. She was born June 10, 1921 in Kansas City, MO to Edwin Russell Poisal and Frances Lee Horner Poisal.

She was the granddaughter of Samuel Edwin Poisal, Sr. and Nannie Virginia McKittruck Poisal.

She spent her childhood in Higginsville, MO. As a young woman, she resided in Lamy, NM and was a “Harvey Girl” who worked for the Fred Harvey Company. “Harvey Girls” had to be “of good character, attractive and intelligent.” She met and married Woodrow Barnes in Lamy. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad.

Frances was a self taught and accomplished secretary. She was employed by Missouri Pacific Railroad in Kingsville, TX, Santa Gertrudis Breeders Association and the King Ranch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Barnes and son, John Lee Barnes. She is survived by daughter, Judith Smith; grandsons, Richard Corby Smith and Jay CarlSmith and his wife, Beatriz, along with five great grandchildren, Amanda, Kyle, Anthony, Ava and Elle.
