Fred Winkler, a resident
sign/return of Bishop, Texas went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 17, 2009. He was born on March 30, 1920 in Evansville, Arkansas and moved to Texas in 1954 where he worked for the U.S. Government at the Naval Air Station in Kingsville for 30 years retiring in 1985.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Gail.
Mr. Winkler is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ruby; and one daughter, Elizabeth and husband Charles Davis of Katy, Texas; five grandchildren, Bonnitta White-Grove and husband Charles of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Crystal Harley and husband Earry and Fred White, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Cynthia and Brandy Davis, all of Katy, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 22, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, Kingsville. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2009 at King’s Way Family Church (Dome), 1727 Senator Carlos Truan Blvd., Kingsville, Texas with Pastor Edwin Cann officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
