Judge Chiuminatto declines 7th term

Judge Martin Chiuminatto Judge Martin Chiuminatto Judge Martin Chiuminatto announced today that he has decided not to run for a seventh term of the County Court at Law for Kleberg County.

He noted that at the end of this term in December 2010, he will have been practicing law for 35 years, the last 24 of which will have been in service as Judge of the County Court at Law.

“While I am not ready to retire yet, I am ready to embrace new challenges,” Judge Chiuminatto said.

“I certainly want to thank the voters of Kleberg County for their ongoing support over the years,” he said.

“Please know that I have worked hard to make a difference in our community while recognizing the rights of each individual who utilizes our judicial system,” the judge said.

Highlights of Judge Chiuminatto’s judicial career include service on the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, the Texas Judicial Council, the Texas Center for the Judiciary, the Texas Judicial Foundation, the Juvenile Justice Committee of the Judicial Section of the State Bar of Texas and the Texas Supreme Court Task Force for Technology in the Courtroom.

He is one of only two judges in South Texas to be certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as a Family Law Specialist.

In his private life, he has been active in numerous civic, charitable and church activities.

“I hope that I have been worthy of the trust placed in me by the citizens of Kleberg County. My goal has been to leave behind a legacy of accomplishment and hard work,” Chiuminatto said.
