Diamond Angels bring home championship trophy
Meet the Diamond Angels 12U fast pitch team
The Diamond Angels traveled to San Antonio on Oct. 25 and 26 to participate in the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Halloween Tournament where 15 other 12U teams participated.
The girls for the second consecutive tournament came away declared the 12U Champions.
All of the teams that the girls faced were new opponents to the organization.
The pool games saw the team defeat the Stingers comprised of girls from Pleasanton, Jourdanton, Devine, and Hondo areas and GWA from San Antonio.
The girls went on to face the Texas Tornadoes in the first bracket game and came out swinging.
The girls scored five runs in the top half of the first inning and cruised to an 8-0 victory. The girls then faced the Stingers and beat them 5-1.
The girls met Brats with Bats in the semi-final game and again scored a ton of runs early to hand them a 7-3 victory.
The girls waited for their next opponent and again it was Brats with Bats and the Diamond Angels were victorious in a thriller game by a score of 3-1.
The girls went undefeated throughout the tournament with all four pitchers Kayle Oliveira, Celeste Castillo, KJ Emmons, and Kristi Rangel garnering a victory and/or a save in the tourney.
The girls will finish off the fall season with a local tourney in November and then the last one in December back in San Antonio. The team members, coaches, and parents would like to thank Daddy O’s for sponsoring the entry fee to this tournament.
