BILINGUAL CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS
BILINGUAL CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS - KISD staff members recently
attended the 37th annual Texas Association for Bilingual Education in Houston.
The TABE theme was: “40 years of Bilingual Education: Educating Children for a
Prosperous Tomorrow.” The conference included over 170 sessions that provided
opportunities for the participants to learn, share, and experience recent research
findings and the latest information in best practices for second language learners.
The conference was part of the teacher professional development for the bilingual
teachers who attended. Teachers who attended stated the conference inspired them
because they became aware of the multi languages in the schools. They will also be
to implement many of the strategies they learned in the classrooms. Participation
in this conference was provided by state bilingual funds. Pictured from left are
