Celia B. (Zapata) Perez Celia B. (Zapata) Perez, 85, of Kingsville, died on Sunday, November 8, 2009 in Kingsville.

Perez was born on February 13, 1924 in Roma to Asencio and Juliana Barrera. She was a retired employee of Kleberg County Senior Citizen Center.

Survivors include four daughters, Nicolasa (Oscar) Rodriguez, Irene Zapata of Kingsville, Ofie (Frank) Rios, and Odie Wright both of Corpus Christi; four brothers, Raul Barrera, Regulo Barrera, Asencio Barrera Jr. all of Kingsville, and Ramiro Barrera of California; seven sisters, Rafaela Cisneros, Amelia Utley, Marcela Garcia, Julia De La Rosa, Esther Bernal, Zulema Gonzalez all of Kingsville and Mary De La Rosa of California; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9.

A rosary was held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9 and at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.

A funeral mass was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11 at St. Martins Catholic Church with Father Joe Torres officiating.

Burial followed at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
