The 32-2A All District football selections were recently posted for the 2009 season.

Several players from Bishop were selected.

Offensive Player of the Year honors was awarded to Badger senior fullback Zack Lowman.

Players selected to the First Team All District are as follows: sophomore running back Jacob Beltran, senior offensive lineman Michael Gaither, junior offensive lineman James Drummond, senior defensive lineman Zack Lowman, senior linebacker and kicker Tommy Cavazos.

Players selected to the Second Team All District are as follows: senior quarterback Jacob Ortegon, senior running back David Herrera, senior receiver Taylor Lee, senior offensive lineman Marco Cruz, junior defensive lineman James Drummond, junior linebacker Nick Pacheco, sophomore defensive back Travis Charles.

Players selected for Honorable Mention are as follows: senior running back and defensive back J.P. Escobar, sophomore tight-end Alan Scott, junior offensive lineman Nick Pacheco, junior offensive lineman Zy Perez, senior offensive and defensive lineman David Cowger, senior defensive back David Herrera, sophomore defensive back Jacob Beltran, and senior defensive lineman Marco Cruz.

Academic All District

The Badgers also placed several players in the Academic All District 32- 2A team. The criteria for qualification for this honor is to hold a cumulative GPA of 90 or above.
