Jack Lutenbacher, and P.C. Juan Pena Jr. Leann Wiley, an agriculture major attending Texas A&M-College Station, was presented with a $1,000 scholarship check from the Knight Templar Educational Fund at the Chamberlain Masonic Lodge on October 15.

The K.T.E.F was established after a recipient of the loan program, who had received two small loans in 1939, made a donation in excess of $500,000 which was later combined with other smaller donations.

Since 1988 the K.T.E.F. has awarded over $1,000,000 in scholarships.

The K.T.E.F. directors evaluate the applications of college students who must have at least 30 college hours and be a Texas and U.S. citizen.

The K.T.E.F. scholarship is evaluated and presented to Texas college students in July and November.

The applications cannot be found online so the student must make contact with a Mason who is also a member of any commander of the Grand Commandery of Texas.

The Chamberlain Masonic Lodge also gives four scholarships away annually at $500 each to a H.M. King High, Bishop High, Riviera Kaufer High, and Academy High School student each.
