Elks Hoop Shoot Free-Throw Program set for Dec. 12
The Hoop Shoot Free- Throw program boasts the largest non-commercial, coeducational sports program in America and is sponsored by the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks.
More than three million kids ages 8 to 13 participate each year. They advance through local, district, state, regional and national levels.
Boys and girls in each of the three age categories (8-9, 10-11, 12-13) will compete, with the winner in each class advancing to the district level.
Groups will be determined by the contestant’s age as of April 1, 2010.
Contestants in the 8-9 age category may shoot four feet in front of the regulation foul line.
The local competition will be held Dec. 12 at the Kingsville Boys and Girls Club, 1238 E. Kenedy Avenue. Registration will take place at 8 a.m.
Each contestant must bring proof of age to register. A birth certificate, passport, or baptismal certificate will be acceptable.
