The LaPosada Bake-off sponsored by Leo Alarcon and the Woman’s Club of Kingsville, is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Helen Kleberg Community Center (Woman’s Club Building) at 4th and Yoakum Streets.

There are 3 divisions in the bake-off: Cookies; Pan de Polvo; and Pecan. There are 4 categories in the Pecan division: Pies, Cakes, Candy, and Breads and each entry must contain pecans.

There are also 3 age divisions in each category, ages 3 years and up. There is a $5 entry fee per item.

Check-in time for all entries is 9 a.m. to 10 am. Judging will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the awards ceremony will be at 1 p.m.

Entry forms may be obtained at Kleberg Bank, the Chamber of Commerce, and Sellers Market. They will also be available the day of the contest.
