Flora Ebba Barton, age 91, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2009 in Kingsville. She was born October 17, 1918 in Midlothian, Texas to Raymond and Mary Morrow. Ebba graduated valedictorian from Auswell/ Tivoli High School and attended Texas A&I College for one year. She spent the next several years raising her family. Later she went back to Texas A&I College and finished her degree. She began teaching in 1965 and taught for 20 years at KISD. In retirement, Ebba was a volunteer in the Kingsville ISD, the Kleberg County Literacy Council, Amistad Thrift Shop and the Spohn Kleberg Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the Retired Teachers of Texas and was a life member of PTA.
Her love of God and her family were her guiding force. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Kingsville for 71 years. She was a member of UMW, Weeks Bible Class and the Couples Sunday School Class. Ebba was very religious and prayed each and every night for her family and friends by name. Through her many disabilities in recent years, she remained independent and was determined to live by herself. Ebba kept in constant touch with her loved ones and friends until her dying day.
Mrs. Barton was preceded in death by her husband, O.C. “Buck” Barton; parents; four brothers; two sisters; and daughter-in-law, Vicki Barton.
She is survived by four sons, Wiley (Sue) Barton of Bellville, Texas, Richard (Betty) Barton of Bay Cliff, Texas, Jerry (Lin) Barton of San Antonio, Texas and Steve Barton of Odem, Texas; two daughters, Sarah (George) Seaman of Leander, Texas and Peggy (Chris) Genz of Kingsville; sisterin law, Evelyn Randall; 20 grandchildren; 37great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of friends.
Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Sheldon Johnson officiating. Burial followed in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.

Services were entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
