Margaret Joyce Clark Margaret Joyce Clark Margaret “Joyce” Clark, age 82, a resident of Riviera, Texas passed away Thursday, December 3, 2009. She was born on February 1, 1927 in Birmingham, Michigan to Robert & Nellie Clark. She was married to the former Col. Walter W. Ott. They had three children, Karen (Peter) Swisher and Robert “Dale” Clark of Richmond, Virginia, and Barbara (Leslie) Colston of Riviera, Texas. Joyce was blessed with two grandchildren, Stephanie Marie Swisher and Kenneth Houston Cox. After attending Stevens College, she married and led the life of a career military wife moving several times throughout the country. Upon her divorce, she returned to Michigan to become the first female Toyota dealership owner in the United States. Joyce devoted her life to her children making untold personal sacrifices to ensure they completed college. After retirement, she moved to Virginia and lived with her eldest daughter, Karen, and later resided in Riviera, Texas, with her youngest daughter, Barbara. In Riviera she was “adopted” by the entire Colston clan. Joyce loved them all, and especially her son-in-law, Leslie, who was not only family to her but a true friend and confidant.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Leslie Colston’s residence, 5851 U.S. Hwy. 77, Riviera, Texas with Rev. Ron Earley officiating.

Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
