Enforcement Week, the second phase of the City of Kingsville’s outstanding warrant roundup, begins Monday and ends Friday.

During this week, individuals will be apprehended and taken to jail or, if court is in session, they will be brought to the court to address the outstanding warrants before the municipal court judge, Chief of Police Ricardo Torres said.

City of Kingsville Municipal Court Clerk Yolanda Vasquez said that there were 4,591 outstanding warrants as of Nov. 30. Those warrants are equivalent of $1,094,484.85 in fines and fees that are outstanding.

The police department will be joined by the Kingsville Specialized Crimes and Narcotics Task Force to pursue the outstanding warrants during Enforcement Week.

The officers of KPD and KSCNTF will be going to residences as well as businesses to serve the outstanding warrants and will continue to do the same during future targeted enforcement periods.
