Pvt. Gustavo L. Hernandez Pvt. Gustavo L. Hernandez arrived at the Corpus Christi International Airport at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, where he was welcomed by his parents, Valde Hernandez, and Noemi Schubert, along with his sister, Nicole Hernandez, brother-in-law Chris Garcia, brother, Alan Schubert, and his only niece, Loryn April Garcia.

Pvt. Hernandez recently completed AIT training at Fort Sill, (Lawton) Oklahoma where he continued to advance in Field Artillery tactics and techniques.

Pvt. Hernandez will be temporarily assigned to the Army Recruiting Office here in Kingsville, under the supervision of Sgt. Davis and Sgt. Miracle. His next assignment will be at Fort Bliss Army Base in El Paso, Texas where he will remain in the 39th Battalion.

His family and friends welcome him home, saying “We are proud of you Gus for all your achievements, enjoy your stay, and have a safe Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. We love you!”
