Andy Gonzalez seeks 2nd term

Andy Gonzalez Andy Gonzalez Andy Gonzalez is seeking re-election for Kleberg County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 in the March 2010 Democratic Primary. He has served as Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace the last three years.

“I am running for reelection because I have strived to make a difference in Precinct 1 and have dedicated myself to be available to everyone in the county 24 hours. I have developed a good working relationship with the Kingsville Police Department, Kleberg County Sheriff’s Department and the DPS. I have been available to conduct inquests, magistrate at the jail, magistrate juveniles, no matter where I am or what time of the day or night,” Gonzalez said.

He stated he is very concerned and committed to working with juveniles and children of this community. Gonzalez strives to make students aware of the education they get right now will follow them the rest of their lives.

“I want to make them understand that their parents only want what is best for them when they insist that they go to school,” he said. “I try to make parents understand that if their children are not attending school, they are depriving themselves of a right to education.”

Gonzalez said he works closely with the Communities in Schools and their BASICS program. The BASICS program assists his office in keeping the students that come to Truancy Court on track with their court ordered directive.

“I have committed myself and my office to be fair and impartial, treat everyone with dignity and respect and make sure that everyone feels that my office shows them the courtesy and helpfulness that they seek,” Gonzalez said.

“I want people to know we realize that the citizens of Precinct 1 have put their trust in us and we accept that responsibility.”

Gonzalez stated he has committed himself to help every citizen of Kleberg County in seeking answers for questions, whether it is helping them find their way around the county offices, answers to citations, juvenile issues or just plain listen to their concerns.

“I am here to help you,” he said.

He solicits input from the Kleberg County citizens and welcomes suggestions.

“I will try to answer as many questions that are asked of me within the law,” he said.

“I want to thank each and everyone that voted for me three years ago, and I hope you will do the same this coming year. I look forward to hearing from everyone in Precinct 1 and hope to continue serving you the next four years as your Justice of the Peace in Precinct 1,” Gonzalez said.
