Writers in the Kingsville- Bishop area are invited to the Laughing Gull Writers Workshop, which will take place on Jan. 23, 2010 at Brundrett Middle School in Port Aransas.

Sessions include the following: Fiction Writing with Ara13, Journaling with Peggy Mooers, Generating New Poetry with Dr. Cathy Downs, and Bookmaking with Rosemarie Cowan.

Participants will have the opportunity to share their work for critiquing in the afternoon fiction and poetry sessions.

The cost for the day is $45, includes two workshops and refreshment breaks.

At the evening reading, which is open to the public, the presenters will read from their own writing at the school, followed by a question and answer time.

The reading is slated for 7-9 p.m. and admission is $2 at the door.
