Texas A&M-Kingsville used its free-throw shooting in an overtime period to take an 89-85 Lone Star Conference crossover victory over East Central last Monday night on the Hampton Inn Court in the Steinke Physical Education Center.

The Javelinas scored seven of their 11 overtime points at the stripe.

Dontae Figgs hit a layup with five seconds left in regulation play to force the overtime. The Javelinas hadn’t trailed since the 10:30 mark of the second half before Figgs’ goal.

The Javelinas never trailed in the overtime period after Flavio Milam gave the Javelinas a two-point lead to open the session and and Antwan Mullins increased the lead to five.

Mullins had three of the free throws in overtime.
