The deadline for filing as a candidate in the March 2010 Democratic is at 5 p.m. Jan. 4, 2010.

The deadline for submitting candidate information for a front page story in the Kingsville Record and Bishop News is 6 p.m. Monday, Jan 4.

The county offices up for re-election are the District Clerk, County Court-at-law, County Judge, County Clerk, County Treasurer, County Commissioners Precinct 2 and 4 and all four Justice of the Peace precincts.

For a countywide office or county commissioner the filing fee is $750. Filing fee for the justices of the peace and constable is $375. In lieu of the filing fee, petitions can be filed and 100 signatures are needed for countywide office and for a precinct office the number of signatures required is 50.

Other offices up for election are State Representative District 43 and 105th District Judge. Filing for these offices is conducted in Austin.

Candidates filing to be placed on the Democratic ballot are being conducted in the office of Alfred Isassi, Democratic Chairman.

Candidates wishing to file can contact the party chairmen by appointment if they wish to place their names for office.
