Wildlife photo exhibit now at Kleberg Bank
The traveling Coastal Bend Wildlife Photo Exhibit, which features 259 award winning museum quality photos, is now on display at Klegerg Bank.
The exhibit showcases 22 different classifications of birds, and numerous classes of native mammals, insects, arachnids, reptiles, amphibians, and landscapes of the Coastal Bend.
The traveling exhibit is funded in part by the Coastal Bend Community Foundation and credits sponsors from the 2009 Photo Contest.
The exhibit travels throughout 16 counties of the Coastal Bend.
To date, it has visited more than 150 venues, including libraries, museums, banks, schools, art centers and airports.
By the end of its two year tour, the photos will be seen by over 100,000 people spreading public awareness about wildlife conservation. Photos will be available for viewing during bank hours of operation from through Jan. 31.
Known as one of the richest wildlife photo contests in the world, the foundation recruits top nature photographers from around the world and teams them with Texas Coastal Bend ranchers.
The teams are given five months to photograph.
Three world renowned judges select 259 winning images out of more than 6,020 digital images submitted in the contest.
Winning photographers and land owners share the prize money equally.
