Lester Earl Ewing Lester Earl Ewing, 70, died on January 3, 2010 in Corpus Christi.

Ewing was born on December 17, 1939 in Vigo County, IN to James Edward and Erma Reeves Ewing. He served in the U.S. Navy from January 24, 1957 and retired in July 21, 1976 and was Sailor of the Month in October 31, 1975 and did his training on April 4, 1957 at the U.S. Naval Training Center in San Diego, California. Ewing was in the National Little League of Kingsville, TX from 1975 and 1977 & 1978 and was President of the National Little league. Mr. Ewing worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for five years and seven months and retired on August 3, 2003 in Beeville.

Survivors include his wife, Aiko Ewing of Beeville; two sons, Butch Ewing of Fuquay Varina, NC and James Ewing of Columbus, GA; one brother, David Hubble; one sister, Linda Fast; and two grandchildren.

A visitation was held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7.

A funeral was held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7 at Guardian Funeral Home in Corpus Christi followed by military honors.
