Gandhi named National Honor Society Member of the Month for December

Mira Gandhi Mira Gandhi H.M. King student Mira Gandhi has been named December’s National Honor Society Member of the Month.

Extracurricular Activities: President of the class of 2010, President of Health Occupation Students of America, past president of the Latin Club in her freshman and sophomore years, Latin Honor Club (National Junior Classical League), Business Professionals of America (10th/11th grade), Student Council, Top Ten Club, marching and Concert Band (trumpet), UIL Math Science, Calculator, and Number Sense, Educational Talent Search, and National Honor Society.

Work Experience: Over 270 volunteer hours, peer mentor for Educational talent Search at TAMUK, volunteer at Natural Toxins Research Lab where she conducted research.

Plans after high school: Mira plans to attend college and go to medical school to become a doctor or surgeon and possibly an OB/GYN or cardiac surgeon.

Interesting Facts:

I like to read, spend time with my friends and family, and got to movies, especially movies like Harry Potter and Becoming Jane. My favorite school subjects are biology and calculus. My favorite quote is ‘Live as if you were to die tomorrow, learn as if you were to live forever.’
