Josephine G. Paree, 89, of Corpus Christi, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, in Corpus Christi.

She was born on Sept. 20, 1920, in Pineland.

She was the owner of West Point Grocery in Corpus Christi.

Paree was a member of St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Corpus Christi.

Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Orie Paree of Corpus Christi; two sons, Frank (Cecilia) Briseno of Louisiana and Hector (Esperanza) Hernandez of Corpus Christi; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A rosary was recited Jan. 31 at the Turcotte- Piper Mortuary Chapel in Kingsville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 1 at St. James Catholic Church in Bishop with the Rev. Richard Koziol as celebrant.

Burial followed at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Bishop.
