SEAHAWK TRACK

Riviera-Kaufer High School’s varsity boys and girls track teams competed at a meet in Orange Grove last weekend. Kaufer’s boys team finished fourth and the Lady Seahawks placed fifth.

Ronnie Peralez won the individual 3200-meter Run while Juan Vela came in second. Sarah Langbecker placed fourth in the girls 3200-meter Run. Chris Foster finished second in the 800-meter Run and third in both the Triple Jump and the High Jump.

Placing individually in the 1600-meter Run were Langbecker (sixth), Peralez (second), and Cody Salinas (sixth). Tony Ledesma came in sixth in the Shot Put. Clarissa Arguijo came in fourth in the Triple Jump. Jessica Herrera placed sixth and Joseph Saaverdra claimed fifth in the Discus. Kaitlyn Polly came in fourth in the 200-meter Dash. Ryan McKee finished sixth in the 400-meter Dash.

Finishing fourth in the 1600-meter Relay were Rochelle Cumberland, Sarah Langbecker, Brianna McKee and Clarissa Arguijo. Melyn Stary, Jessica Herrera, Cumberland and McKee placed third in the 800-meter Relay. Clarissa Cortez, Kaitlyn Polly, Arguijo and Herrera came in fourth in the 400-meter Relay.

Kevin Jimenez, Joseph Saavedra, Ryan McKee and Cody Salinas finished sixth in the 400-meter Relay. Daniel Yaklin, Chris Foster, Jimenez and Saavedra came in second in the 800-meter Relay. Ronnie Peralez, Yaklin, Jimenez and Foster placed sixth in the 1600-meter Relay.

SEAHAWKS

Riviera-Kaufer High School’s varsity baseball team competes at a tournament in Bishop this Thursday through Saturday. Kaufer’s junior varsity baseball team visits Skidmore-Tynan at 5 p.m. on Monday.

The Lady Seahawk varsity and junior varsity softball teams visit Falfurrias at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The varsity softball team competes at a tournament in Aransas Pass Thursday through Saturday.

The Lady Badgers varsity softball team competes at a tournament hosted by Santa Gertrudis Academy High School Thursday through Saturday.

Bishop High School’s varsity baseball team visits Falfurrias at 7 p.m. on Monday. Bishop’s freshman baseball team hosts Falfurrias at 6 p.m. on Monday. The Badger varsity baseball team hosts a tournament this Thursday through Saturday.

Santa Gertrudis Academy High School’s varsity softball team visits San Perlita at 5 p.m. on Monday, and then hosts a tournament this Thursday through Saturday.

Santa Gertrudis Academy High School’s varsity baseball team visits Benavides at 7 p.m. on Friday.
