Local farmers and ranchers called attention to safe, abundant and affordable food during the week of Feb. 21-27 when Kleberg Kenedy County Farm Bureau held their Food Check-Out Week Activities.

“Americans enjoy the safest and most affordable food supply in the world,” Kleberg-Kenedy County Farm Bureau President David Schubert said.

“It takes less than five weeks for the average American to earn enough to pay for an entire year’s worth of food,” Schubert said

Kleberg-Kenedy County Farm Bureau bought $200 of food from H.E.B. and donated to the local food pantry.

“As farmers and ranchers, we are proud to produce affordable food for our families and yours,” David Schubert said. “We are proud of what we do and hope Americans will join us in celebration of our agricultural success,” Schubert said.
