PALM SUNDAY — Parishioners at St. Gertrudes took part in Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion, which is held on the last Sunday of Lent season on March 28. The congregation was led outside to the church grounds where branches of a palm were distributed as a reminder of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. The tradition also marks the beginning of Holy Week. Father Piotr Koziel blessed the palms, which are made into crosses and are placed in their homes as a sign of devotion.
