Letter to the Editor
The original title for this letter was “Administration Continues to Use Questionable Methods.”
The letter was going to pose more of the community’s questions for Riviera ISD’s administration.
With the administration’s latest slap in the face of our community, a more pressing matter took precedent.
This letter has been written to inform the public that many events have transpired in Riviera ISD.
The district’s administrators have definitely shown their desperation after witnessing the sobering truth that this community will not stand for their tyranny.
Many community members have been told by their children that the administration is trying to destroy the career of one of the best teachers in our school.
It has just come to my attention, based on the accounts of many of these community members, that the administration has accused one of our district’s most outstanding teachers of jeopardizing the safety of our community’s children.
That model teacher was put on administrative leave. Who has even made a complaint?
The administration’s initial “investigation,” akin to a witch hunt, consisted of the interrogation of students without parental permission.
Some of the questions asked of the students may have been very leading and deliberately directed for a predetermined answer. I encourage all parents to inquire of their children as to what is happening in our school.
The administration is attempting to tarnish the reputation of a very dedicated and effective teacher with a proven track record of student success.
Little does it know, gold doesn’t tarnish.
They cannot stand the fact that the students have more respect for the honesty and integrity of this one teacher than the entire administration combined.
The students’ wisdom is a testament to the quality of education they receive from the teacher in question.
Let this be a lesson to all of us.
The rest of the faculty must realize what is being done to their colleague, who is taking the brunt of the administration’s wrath for each and every one of them who remain.
We as a community will stand by each of them until all the current injustices are corrected.
After our investigation is complete and the entire truth is revealed, the honest, hardworking teachers of our district will know how grateful this community is and that they should no longer be fearful of speaking the truth.
To the few of you who have not realized the errors of your judgment and continue to stand behind and support these accusations against this most beloved and respected teacher should be ashamed.
Anyone associated or aligned with this bunch of scoundrels well be shunned and ask to leave this community.
This community continues to question methods the administration has used in the planning, analysis, and promotion of the recent school bond issue.
Why wasn’t the district’s website, its primary and most cost effective method of public notice for School Board and other meetings, used to give notice of bond workshops?
Why were meeting times only written on papers left on a table in the Learning Resource Center once and selectively in the town?
Why did those papers say the meetings would be held in 2009, not 2010?
Were these meetings held a year after they should have been?
When will meetings concerning the bond issue continue?
The community has asked many times that the administration properly post meeting notices in the newspaper and on the District’s website so that all are able to attend.
This administration consists of the most asinine, ignorant, and bumbling fools I have ever witnessed.
When will they realize that we, as a community, are not the idiots they think we are?
We will not sit idly by while these fools attempt to strong-arm our community, teachers, and children.
