Willie Butler Willie “Bill” Butler, 94, of Brenham, died March 30, 2010, at Brazosport Regional Hospital in Lake Jackson.

Butler was born Nov. 10, 1915, in Karnes City, to parents Jeff and Viola (Ivy) Butler.

He married Donie Mae Slayton on June 8, 1939 in Alice.

Butler worked as a welder and in civil service as a utilities operator at the U.S. Navy Air Station in Kingsville for 28 years before retirement.

He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Brenham.

Survivors include daughters and sons-inlaw Donna Lynn and Peter Rounseville of Deland, Fla., Katharine Gail and Larry Croxton of Lake Jackson, Bonnie Carol and Kenneth Mitchell of Stafford, Va.; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation took place April 2 at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

A funeral service was held April 3 in Brenham Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Darren Donaldson officiating.

Burial followed in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Fellowship Baptist Church.
