James B. Cooper
James B. Cooper, age 87, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Monday, April 12, 2010 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on September 5, 1922 in Opelika, Alabama to Harvey Henderson Cooper and Mary Haggerman Cooper. Mr. Cooper was the owner of Cooper’s Grocery Store. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a deacon and choir member for over 50 years.
Mr. Cooper was preceded in death in 1998 by his first wife of 54 years, Mary Louise Cooper.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Cooper of Kingsville; two daughters, Shirley (Lynn) Bailey of Tuscola, Texas and Susan (Larry) Pittman of New Caney, Texas; two stepdaughers, Beverly (Butch) Hamilton of Kingsville and Brenda (Mark) Hansen of Lake Jackson, Texas; five stepsons, James (Karen) Redus of Kansas City, Missouri, Billy (Dianne) Redus of Cleveland, Texas, Charles (Erna) Redus of Kingsville, Clint Redus and Michael (Amy) Redus, both of Pearland, Texas; two sisters; two brothers; and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, Kingsville, with Rev. Ron Earley officiating. Burial will take place at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Magnolia Park Cemetery, Dayton, Texas.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
