Selma Louise Trotter Trant Selma Louise Trotter Trant Selma Louise Trotter Trant, age 90, a longtime resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away in her home on Thursday, April 15, 2010.

She was born on March 26, 1920 to Marion Trotter and Selma Louise Trotter. She married her husband, Gordon E. Trant on November 11, 1938 and they had three children.

Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kingsville. She was a member of the Women’s Club for over 50 years where she held several offices. She has been a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution since 1996. She was also a member of the Playhouse of Design, BPW (Business Professional Women), and a Kleberg County Hospital Auxiliary volunteer. Louise and Mable Weeks founded the Porcelain Art Club in 1976 to which she was also a member. She was active in the Hill Country Arts Foundation in Ingram and Hi-Lights China Club of Corpus Christi, TX. She was involved in the Camp Fire Girls at local, state and National levels. She was chairman for the Fiesta de Colores Arts and Crafts shows. She was active in the Keep Kingsville Beautiful and enjoyed volunteering at Seller’s Market.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother; her husband; and her children, Nancy Vaughn, Wanda Fogle and Rodney Trant. She is survived by her loving grandchildren, Steven (Gayle) Vaughn of Bishop, Clay (Lisa) Vaughn of Houston and Randa Lester of Kingsville and her greatgrandchildren, Randi, Garrett, Alexandra, Samantha, and Ashley; as well as many friends.

Louise will be remembered for her collection of roosters and her beautiful china painting which she loved and shared with many. She enjoyed crochet, needlepoint and making many quilts as well as her Bridge games. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends that she leaves behind.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Turcotte Piper Mortuary.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Kingsville, Texas with Pastor Ron Earley officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 751, Kingsville, Texas 78364 or the charity of your choice.

Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
