Ramon Ramirez, 85, of Falfurrias, died April 16, 2010, at a local hospital.

He was born on Nov. 6, 1924, to Ramon Ramirez Sr. and Barbraita Gonzalez Ramirez in Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

He worked was as a selfemployed farmer throughout his lifetime.

Survivors include his daughters, Bertha Garcia of Falfurrias, and Maria Garcia of Galveston; three sisters, Georgina (Sonny) Guajardo of Weslaco, Adela (Gilbert) Huerta of Mission, and Francisca Ramirez of San Antonio; 11 grandchildren.

A rosary was recited April 19 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Falfurrias.

A funeral Mass was celebrated April 20 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias.

Burial followed at the New Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
