Garcia seeks another term as commissioner

Al Garcia Al Garcia Kingsville City Commissioner and Mayor Pro Tem Al Garica is seeking another two-year term in the May 8 Kingsville City Commission election ballot.

“I am privileged and honored to be serving as a member of the City of Kingsville Commission and ask for consideration of your vote in the upcoming election May 8,” Garcia said.

“Through the years I have seen many positive changes that made a difference in making our community a better place to live. Our city is cleaner as we continue to pursue cleaning up our city. Our streets continue to give us challenges, but daily work on making necessary repairs and reconstruction will assure our streets will continue to serve our transportation needs,” he said.

Garcia also said he looked forward to a continued relationship with my fellow commissioners, and warned that city needs will increase in the coming years.

“Our infrastructure is aging,” he said.

“Water lines, wastewater, and drainage of storm water will be a high priority along with continued attention to streets and city cleanup,” Garcia said.

“Balancing our city budget for the coming years will also be challenging; as the economy slowly recovers, careful budget planning will be needed to be adhered to in order to assure ourselves of success financially,” he said.

“Our good working relationship with NAS Kingsville, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Kleberg County, Kingsville Independent School District, South Texas Water Authority and many other groups and entities will need to continue in order to follow through with ongoing partnerships and projects,” Garcia noted.

“I am ready to serve once again and as always, dedicated to community service,” the mayor pro-tem said.
