Reyes seeking Bishop City Council seat

Benito Reyes Jr. Benito Reyes Jr. Benito Reyes Jr. of Bishop has announced his candidacy for the Bishop City Council, Place 4, in the May 8 city election. Reyes has 12 years of experience in management and administrative skills, eight years of paraprofessional experience, and 15 years of home health experience.

He also holds certifications in preventative maintenance in aggressive behavior, technology in the classroom, and is a certified paraprofessional aide.

Among his list of accomplishments, Reyes is a 2009-2010 board representative on the Nueces County Community Action Agency Board of Directors as well as a 2010 Executive Board Member of the Nueces County Community Action Agency.

Reyes is member of the Bishop Neighborhood Council and serves as secretary of St. James Catholic Cemetery committee, secretary of St. James Catholic Parish council, and as a secretary assistant volunteer in St. James Catholic Church.

Reyes has volunteered in public school and sees himself as an advocate for all citizens in need of assistance.

“I want the citizens of Bishop to know that I will work hard for them and I will strive to ensure that the issues and ideas of the citizens of Bishop are important to me if they are important to them,” Reyes said.

“I will work together with the citizens to ensure a strong Bishop community.”

Reyes said he wanted to thank his supporters for backing him in this endeavor.

“I want to personally thank all my family and friends who have strongly suggested and supported me to take on a new venture as a Bishop City Council member,” Reyes said.

“If elected I will work hard on the ideas of citizens to move Bishop in a positive direction.”
