Badger golfer A.J. Gaona had a two round total of 165. The Bishop Badgers boy’s golf team recently participated in the regional golf tournament held this past Monday and Tuesday, April 19-20 in New Braunfels.

With a score of 733, the Badgers finished fifth out of 16 teams.

A.J. Gaona led Bishop with a total score of 165 (79 round one, 86 round two) followed by Michael Crisman with a 186 (89 round one, 97 round two).

Meanwhile, Jason Gaona’s two round total was 188 (95 round one, 93 round two), Jakob Reyes totaled 194 (99 round one, 95 round two) and Alan Scott finished with a 205 total (99 round one, 106 round two).

A.J. Gaona’s two-day total earned him a fifth place finish out of 94 golfers competing in the regional tournament.

The top five team scores at regional tournament are as follows: Rice Consolidated – 699, Weimer – 701, Lago Vista – 715, Cole – 723 and Bishop – 733.
