TAMUK’s Jorge Guerra signs deal with the Buffalo Bills

Jorge Guerra became the second Texas A&MKingsville football player last week, joining Jimmy Saddler-McQueen, to be signed to an undrafted free agent NFL contract when he signed a three-year deal with the Buffalo Bills.

Guerra, a Roma, Texas native, started for four years for the Javelinas at left tackle.

As a senior he helped lead the Hoggies to a Lone Star Conference Championship and berth in the NCAA Division II Playoffs.

He earned Lone Star Conference South Division Second Team, Daktronics Super Region Four Second Team and ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI First Team honors.

“It’s an unbelievable feeling, amazing, still a little hard to believe,” said Guerra after signing his contract.

Guerra sited his time with the Javelinas as being instrumental in his development as a player. “I came her as a walk-on and just kept working hard,” said Guerra.

Guerra leaves for western New York on Thursday and will participate in the Bills’ Rookie Camp from May 6-9.

Guerra graduated with his undergraduate degree in Management last year and is nearing completion of his Master’s degree.
