Rene Munoz, 81, of Rio Grande City, died on April 30, 2010, at Mission Regional Hospital in Mission.

He was born on May 8, 1928 in Chapeno.

Survivors include his son, Rene Munoz, III; daughterin law, Alma Salinas Munoz; two brothers, Romeo Munoz, Rosendo (Maria) Munoz of Kingsville; one sister, Jesusita Vera; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held May 2 at Sanchez Funeral Home in Rio Grande City.

A rosary was recited May 2 at Sanchez Funeral Home.

A funeral Mass was held May 3 at Immaculate Conception Church in Rio Grande City.

Burial followed at the Rio Grande City Cemetery.
