Marcelo C. Aredondo Jr. Marcelo C. Aredondo Jr. Marcelo C. Arredondo, Jr., a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend died Saturday May 8, 2010.

Born in New Braunfels, Texas on April 25, 1937, to Marcelo and Virginia Arredondo, he was the second youngest of six children.

He was a hard worker and dedicated businessman. In his early years, he followed work around the United States as a migrant worker. Then, on January 10, 1960 he married his now beloved wife of fifty years Teresa Robles. For twenty years he was a devoted King Ranch employee. Sometime later, Marcelo successfully owned and ran the Kingsville Yellow Cab Company. He later purchased multiple rental properties in Kingsville. After his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Arredondo was greatly known for the charity of his heart. He was truly a man of God that enjoyed helping others and sharing the word of the Lord.

His utmost triumph was not merely completing a GED at a late age in life; rather, it was instilling his principles of higher education, family, and the love of God to his children. His children and grandchildren will remember him as a tender, gentle, supportive man who encouraged them in their successes and helped them over rough spots in life.

Mr. Arredondo will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include wife, Teresa; three daughters, Maricela (Frank) Flores, Maricelda (Juan) Zarate, and Marcela (Joe) Ramirez, all of Kingsville; five sons, Marcelo (Frances) Arredondo of Glenwood, MN, Marcialo (Lori) Arredondo of Dallas, TX, Marcel (Brenda) Arredondo of Kingsville, Vicente (Dina) Lopez of Ricardo, TX, and Roberto (Yvonne) Gutierrez of Bishop, TX.; one sister Guadalupe Longoria of Corpus Christi, TX; twelve grandchildren, the late Adrian Flores, Vanessa Flores, Judy Loera, Roger Flores, Teresita Zarate, Sara Zarate, Nikki Arredondo, Marcialo Arredondo Jr., Bernie Zarate, Marcelo Arredondo IV, and Mateo Arredondo, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held May 12 at Central Baptist Church with Rev Lupe Aguilar officiating. Burial followed at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
