Proclamation salutes Month of the Military Child
Kleberg County Judge Pete De La Garza reads proclamation saluting children of military families and the work of Naval Air Station Kingsville 4-H program.
The Naval Air Station Kingsville Youth Center’s 4-H Club participated in a proclamation reading by Kleberg County Judge Pete De La Garza at the Kleberg County Courthouse last month in honor of Month of the Military Child.
The proclamation recognized military 4-H Clubs, and NAS Kingsville’s Youth Center has one of the most active programs in the state.
The event provided youngsters the opportunity to talk about the impacts of the 4-H Club, in addition to hearing Judge De La Garza read the proclamation and discuss the importance of the Month of the Military Child.
According to YAC director Brent Edwards, 4-H Afterschool is a specialfocused effort within the 4-H Youth Development Program that helps 4-H and other youth-serving organizations create and improve after school programs in urban, suburban, and rural communities across the U.S. “4-H Afterschool is one of the delivery methods through which 4-H programming is implemented,” Edwards said. “The program gives community-based organizations access to the considerable resources of 4-H
