Wanda Louise Douglas
Wanda Louise Douglas, 76, of Joplin, died May 18, 2010, following a lengthy and couragous battle with cancer.
She was born May 27, 1933, to Gladys Meeks Hedrick and Olbert Ray Hedrick in Reed Springs, Mo.
She had a nursing career as an L.P.N. and was a bookkeeper for her husband’s construction company.
She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Joplin.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil L. Douglas; three daughters, Julie A. (Steve) Damer of Joplin, Sherry A. Jones of Disney, Okla. Kena S. (Larry) Purkey of Kingsville; son, Mark A. (Rhonda) Jones of Harrah, Okla.; brother, Donald Hedrick of Florida; sisters, Marge DeGase, Connie Loftin and Edna Baldwin, all of Mo.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held at the home of Steve and Julie Damer in Joplin.
A graveside service was held May 21 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Wanda L. Douglas.
