Local veterans organizations to celebrate Memorial Day
The Kleberg County Veterans Service Office and Kleberg County Veterans from the local veterans organizations invites the public to celebrate Memorial Day at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 31, at the Chamberlain Cemetery.
The main speaker will be Lt. Mark L. Haley, CHC, US Navy Command Chaplain, Naval Air Station Kingsville (NASK).
The event is an annual gathering held at the Chamberlain Cemetery every Memorial Day to honor all sons and daughters of the community that gave their lives for our country.
In order to ensure that their memory is not forgotten, the names of those who have fallen are called out in the ceremony to ensure that their memory and spirit did not die with them.
In the dark hours of war and conflict, America’s soldiers answered their call, and they are the reason that our country is the mightiest, wealthiest, military strong and most secure nation on earth today.
Refreshments and food will be served after the ceremony.
